Welcome to Adobe® Photoshop® CS3, breaking new

This chapter briefly discusses the basics of Photoshop CS3. Mostly This discussion is provided for the newby, but I add also some tips and tricks that will definitely help a lot Photoshop veterans. Do not miss the end of this chapter for I'll show you some of the secrets of Photoshop.
Activate Photoshop 1.1
To activate Photoshop, click Start> All Programs > Adobe
Photoshop CS3.
Know your Photoshop version 1.2
Adobe Photoshop CS3 issued two versions, standard and extended.
To find out which version you are currently using, click Help > About Photoshop. In the dialog box that appears will look version of Photoshop
you use.
1.3 Know the Work Area
Photoshop CS3 display changed to be more dynamic. Under
Photoshop CS3 is the standard view.
1.4 New Tool in CS3
Photoshop CS3 has two new tool, Quick Selection tool and
Count tool.
Quick selection tool is the development of a magic wand tool. Function
choose an area automatically.
Tool count will add a numeric mark into images.
Steps to use this tool is described in Section 1.17.
1.5 Setting the Work Area
1. Click the Workspace
2. Choose one type of work area available
TIP: If you are familiar with the old Photoshop work area, you should try the type of Legacy.
1.6 What's New in CS3
1. Click the Workspace > What 窭 冱 New in CS3
2. If the warning box appears click Yes
3. New command in CS3 will be marked with a light blue color
Display Mode 1.7
1. Click the icon
2. Select one sucked mode
3. This is a view for each mode.
TIP: To go to any mode press F.
1.8 Changing the Background Color
1. Maximize the window image
2. Right-click the background
3. Choose one of the available colors, gray, black, or Custom to define themselves.

1.9 Making Your Own Shortcuts
1. Click the Windows > Keyboard Shortcuts & Menus
2. Select the command does not have a shortcut, such as Trim from the Image menu.
3. Press the keyboard key combination that is free, such as Ctrl + Shift + A
4. Click on OK

2. In all parts of your image histogram, left to right, full.
3. If only the left side of the histogram is filled, meaning that the image has no part dark (shadow).

1:17 Setting Foreground and Background Colors
1. Open the Color palette
2. Click the Foreground color box

5. Can also choose the color by moving the slider
6. This is a warning that the selected color can not be printed by the printer. Click this box to select the color of the nearest safe
NOTE: By default the slider using RGB color mode and the bottom of the palette CMYK.

1. Open an image
2. Activate the eyedropper tool
3. Click the color in the picture
4. Colors will be stored in the foreground
